COMPORT iPRO USB Recovery — Update a Stuck Device | AMR Performance
Update a stuck COMPORT iPRO over USB — no Wi-Fi pairing needed. This connects straight to the device over the USB cable and tells it to update itself, skipping the COMPORTiPRO Wi-Fi step entirely, so the "will not connect / wrong password" problem does not get in the way.
Before you start
- A computer (Windows or Mac) running Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. This will not work on a phone or in Safari.
- A USB cable from the computer to the iPRO device.
- The device powered on (plugged into the car).
- Your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi name and password — the device cannot use 5 GHz networks.
Step 1 — Connect the device
Plug in the USB cable, then click Connect and pick the device from the list. It may show as USB Serial, CP210x, CH340, or USB JTAG/serial.
Step 2 — Enter your Wi-Fi
Enter your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network name and password. Network names containing the "|" character are not supported here — contact AMR Performance for help.
Step 3 — Start the update
The device joins your Wi-Fi and downloads the update, which takes a few minutes. Keep the page open and do not unplug the device — it reboots on its own when it is done. If the update fails, copy the device log shown on the page and send it to AMR support.
