Audi Chassis Codes (2018–2026) — Every Model & Platform | AMR Performance
What is an Audi chassis code? Audi identifies each model line by an internal chassis code (also called a "type code" or "platform code"). It's how Audi — and tuners — distinguish one generation from the next. For example, all current Audis ride on one of a handful of platforms: MQB / MQB Evo (compact, transverse engine), MLB Evo (longitudinal engine, A4 and up), J1 and MEB (electric), and the newer PPC / PPE platforms introduced for 2025+. Knowing your exact code (e.g. a B9 S4 vs a B8.5 S4, or an 8V vs 8Y RS3) matters because the ECU, calibration, and available tuning differ between generations. Use the tables below to identify your car, then browse the matching AMR Performance tunes further down the page. Codes for these newest cars are still settling; the 2018–2024 codes above are the well-established ones tuners rely on. Always confirm against your VIN. How to find your Audi chassis code By model year + name: use the tables above — the model name plus year almost always pins down the code. By VIN: your 17-digit VIN encodes the model and platform; AMR can confirm the exact chassis from it. Engine matters too: the same chassis can ship with different engines (e.g. a B9 with a 2.0T vs a 3.0T), which changes the tune — so note both your chassis and engine when ordering. Found your car?
